The Nutcracker Ballet

Each Year Marlene's Ballet has a ballet performace in the Christmas season. This uear for the first time The Nutcracker is performed in Suriname by Surinamese dancers.

BodyNsoul Photography is photographing the event exclusively. Patrick Krolis and Fausto Fraser are shooting the peformance as a team, from different angles.

Speciale aandacht voor Ron Flu op NK 2008

Paramaribo - Op de 43ste Nationale Kunstbeurs wordt het podium speciaal ingeruimd voor kunstenaar Ron Flu. Hij wordt volgend jaar namelijk 75 jaar. “Dit jaar gaan we speciale aandacht besteden aan Ron Flu”, zegt Thea Valk, lid van de Stichting Nationale Kunstbeurs.

So finally tonight, my first participation at the Nationale Kunstbeurs (National Art Fair) the annual, oldest and most respected gathering or artist in Suriname.

I am participating with 3 older works, all Fine Art Nudes that have been shot in 2005. The reason for this selection is mostly a very personal and probably emotional one.

Back when I made this work it was censored by my then employer and I was prohibited in participating or showing my work in an exhibition or on the web. When left the company in 2006, I decided that it was time to show the work in the artfair/exhibition, but somehow, I had not managed to register in time for the event.
